HP2g 110mpg E85 Ethonal fuel V8 Hybrid Electric Stirling Engine
Press Release
Many people have asked me what I think about X PRIZE now it has ended. My thoughts are mixed with the Progressive Automotive X PRIZE competition.
First,I am delighted to have been a part of this event that spurred public awareness and creative thinking to find better ideas for transportation.
Congratulations to the winners in the Progressive Automotive X PRIZE. We share the understanding of hard work and dedication of this project. Truthfully, if it wasn’t for the X PRIZE, I wouldn’t have brought out the HP2g Hybrid Engine for a few more years because of intellectual properties.
Next, I am disappointed with their verification tests.X PRIZE started out saying the test would be real world driving in city traffic, mountains and highways from New York to California. What happened to that part?
HP2g is “real world” and EPA Tested. It has been driven all over the U.S.A. from Ohio to LasVegas, New York City’s Times Square, Atlantic City, Washington D.C. through the Great Smokey Mountains, to Mackinaw and back to Ohio. HP2g was driven in all types of weather. Example: It driven to the North American International Auto Show in a bad snow storm where you couldn’t see the road, but could hear the snow and ice dragging on the floor of the car. HP2g has navigated through the deserts of Southwest with hot temperatures, sand storms, rain and snow. HP2g has also been driven in high altitudes as much as 10,000’ in the Rockies with more than one rider, complemented by necessities for the trip, (suit cases, ice chest, emergency tools, spare parts…even a spare tire). HP2g has driven more than 38 hours straight through only stopping to stretch and switch drivers to prove product durability.
HP2g™ Hybrid Engine runs on E85 Fuel, 400 Horse Power (HP), 500 Foot Pounds of Torque (ft-tq) and averages 110 MPG. Our products are designed to power and carry the load of transportations: workforce, emergency, agricultural and marine vehicles.
A senior citizen made a point to me by saying the X Prize cars are not designed for them. 6’5” person with hip replacements that wants to drive across country…NOT to be folded in half,Don’t forget about the mom with kids belted in back so close it is easy for them to fight.
The X Prize Competition was to be made for the average practical consumer.”What was considered: Big, Tall, Short, Parents, Elderly, or even Handicapped people? Were extreme weather conditions, high winds, rough terrain and or towing tested done at the track?I believe they fell short.

Horse Power Sales Officially withdraws 110 mpg HP2g from Progressive Automotive X PRIZE Competition
Napoleon, OH:June 4, 2009 ---- Horse Power Sales.net, Inc. has officially withdrawn their team and their 1987 Mustang, powered by the revolutionary, 110MPG, V-8, HP2g engine, from the upcoming Progressive Automotive X PRIZE Competition, effective June 4, 2009. Horse Power’s Team HP2g was initially accepted as an official “letter of intent contender” for the X PRIZE in 2008 but no longer feels it is in the company’s best interests to compete in or be associated with the Progressive Automotive X PRIZE competition.
In making this announcement, Horse Power Sales.net, Inc. President and CEO, Douglas Pelmear, stated: “We have always felt that the real reason for the X PRIZE competition was to help the world. By moving forward with our production plans, we will be doing just that.”
TEAM HP2g is seeking your help in the most challenging test this Country will experience in the future for you and me, our children, our grandchildren and their children to come…. the Progressive Automotive X PRIZE.
The X PRIZE is a contest sponsored by Progressive Auto Insurance and the X Foundation. The contestants of the X PRIZE must design, build and bring to market a vehicle achieving the equivalent of 100mpge (miles per gallon equivalent) with carbon emissions of less than 200g/mi. The goal of the Auto X PRIZE is to inspire engineers, auto makers and other entrepreneurs to build such a vehicle and eventually be mass produced for sale to the public. Competing against national and international teams, Horse Power Sales.Net has such a car available meeting these standards.
The car we will be entering into this contest is named HP2g. The HP2g is assembled by Americans, made with American auto parts by American workers. HP2g will carry four adults. It is one of the heaviest of all entries at 2,850 lbs, compared to the next vehicle weighing 1600 lbs. HP2g offers heat, air conditioning, cruise control, windshield wipers, seat belts, radio (basic creature comforts of existing production vehicles). To the best of my knowledge, HP2g is the only V8 engine participant entered and able to reach high acceleration speeds. All of these features will be beneficial for our participation and win in this cross country race in the 3rd quarter of 2009.
Team HP2g is seeking sponsorship in our endeavor. All races, events and demonstrations of HP2g (during the Progressive Auto X PRIZE) will be written and televised worldwide. Your Company will be given the rights to use our entry vehicle in any and all print ads, web pages, and material hand outs to help better promote your products.
For more than a decade, we at Horse Power Sales.Net, Inc. have developed, patented, marketed and sold automotive engine technologies designed to increase horsepower while drastically increasing fuel economy and decreasing harmful engine emissions. We feel confident in our technology and the performance of our vehicle will forever change American law makers and automotive manufacturers. HP2g will provide consumers with clean super efficient vehicle without sacrificing size, capability, image, safety, acceleration and performance.

Our flagship HP2g™ runs on E85, which is a green, alcohol-based fuel that significantly reduces green house gas emissions. We have worked hard to build a vehicle that would meet the requirements of the X PRIZE. Team HP2g started by using the V8 platform. In testing we are able to have both economy and power to pass the traffic. At this time we are focuse of this project is testing to be more consumer friendly.
